Circuit City Company Description

Circuit City Stores is a top US consumer electronics retailer (along with Best Buy and Wal Mart), with 700-plus superstores in about 45 states. The big-box outlets offer a variety of TVs, DVD players, and audio systems, as well as CDs and DVDs. Circuit City also sells personal computers and peripherals, mobile computing devices, telephones, and video games. In addition to its retail stores, the firm sells products online. Circuit City's international operations are conducted by Canadian subsidiary InterTAN, which operates about 770 locations there. Circuit City Stores filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November 2008.
